This toy is the perfect “story”. This imagination game contributes to the development of the child’s creativity.

“The Day Colors Became Friends”, “The Rainbow Story” or “The Rainbow People” are just some of the wonderful stories about the rainbow and its wonderful colors. Children love the magical colors of the rainbow because their imagination is endless when it comes to using different colors such as drawing a rainbow. The rainbow is the friend of children, it is always present in their lives, sometimes in forms more unusual to us, adults. Through children’s drawings, we notice the rainbow is represented as a friend, with whom, holding hands, they go to school, or it can be the friend with whom they have dinner, sometimes being drawn in the sky, other times in the garden next to flowers.

Recommended educational activities:

With this sensory toy, children will learn:

  • the colors of the rainbow
  • to identify colors and shades
  • to sort colors
  • to count how many colored balls each color of the rainbow is formed

This educational toy develops literacy and numeracy skills, enhances imagination and creativity, and improves the development of cognitive and fine motor skills. Placing the 94 wooden balls in circles requires good hand coordination. Touching different textures, such as wool or wood is not only an amusing activity but a Montessori-recommended learning method as well, that helps children in developing sensory skills: to classify, sort, and differentiate based on the characteristics of different types of materials.

There are 7 (seven) sections/rows of the Rainbow. Start filling in the Montessori Rainbow with the farthest section, the red row Fit one ball into each hole in the section. There are 22 red balls Continue with the 6th row (six) matching the 19 orange wooden balls into each hole of this section. Continue filling the balls: 16 yellow balls into the holes on the 5th row, 13 green balls into the holes on the 4th row, 11 blue balls into the holes of the 3rd row, 8 purple balls into the holes of the 2nd row, and 5 pink balls into the holes of the 1st row.

And Voila! Congratulations! Enjoy your colorful rainbow!

The Rainbow is available in different options like natural or painted, delivered with wood balls or wood balls. Please choose your option prior to placing the product in the shopping cart.
